Concerning the Lowering of the BCP Level (October 6, 2021)

Since Thursday, July 8, AIU has been operating under the restrictions described in Level 3 of our Business Continuity Plan (BCP). However, based on the decrease in infection numbers within Akita Prefecture and the prefectural government lowering its Infection Alert Level from 4 to 3, AIU decided to lower the university’s BCP to Level 2 at the COVID-19 Emergency Headquarters meeting held on Tuesday, October 5.

Although the university has lowered its BCP level, the infection situation remains unpredictable. We will continue to practice thorough infection risk prevention countermeasures as described in the “Akita International University COVID-19 Infection Risk Reduction Guidelines (Third Edition)” and university announcements, including wearing masks and avoiding the 3Cs.

Additionally, for the foreseeable future, use of university facilities (including the library, cafeteria and College Café) will remain closed to the general public. We would like to humbly ask for your continued understanding and cooperation.
