Obituary: Professor Emeritus Takako Ayusawa

We are saddened to announce that Professor Emeritus Takako Ayusawa of AIU passed away on December 5, 2024.

Professor Ayusawa was appointed in 2002 as a member of the International University Establishment Preparatory Committee established by Akita Prefecture for the founding of AIU.  Following this, she also proposed a plan to establish a Japanese language teaching methodology course in the professional graduate school and has devoted herself to its realization.  In addition, she made a great contribution to the development of AIU as the Japanese Language Education Program director, and furthermore, as Head of the Japanese Language Education Practice field of the Graduate School of Global Communication and Languages.

We remember her achievements during her lifetime and at AIU and express our sincere condolences. We respectfully pray for her soul.
